If you search for a first impressions or a review on the Chi-Chi Fabulous & Flawless you get over 1,000 related videos, but is it really worth the hype?
"Chi Chi Flawless Foundation is an oil-free, ultra lightweight foundation that provides medium yet build-able coverage. The long-wearing, smudge-proof formula moisturises and hydrates the face and is enriched with antioxidant vitamins A, E and B5. With continual use, it helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines, and skin is left feeling soft, fresh and natural. It is ideal for all skin types and is paraben free.
Available in 10 even looking shades: Ivory, Fair, Light, Natural, Neutral Beige, Beige, Medium Natural, Medium Olive, Golden and Tanned." - Chi-Chi
So considering the hype over the foundation I decided I would try it out for myself, so I went to my local Target and got a color that I thought would best suit me.
Originally $30, Target was having a sale and I picked the foundation up for $20, which I was pretty happy about.
So now into the important stuff -
The outer packaging for the foundation is in a nice box that's black & hot pink which is very affective and the use of cursive font on the side gives a nice girly touch! The box also features a color guide on the top telling you about the color you are buying and the types of undertones it would best suit, so if you're unable to sample foundation colors to match your skin this guide would be very useful I got shade 5 (Natural Beige) which is for light to medium skin with neutral undertones.
When you open the box up you'll find the foundation in a sleek glass bottle complete WITH A PUMP! (is that or is that not the best thing ever?!)
So I then proceeded to put two pumps on the back of my hand and the first thing I noticed is that it has a quite pleasant floral smell, it's not an intense smell so if perfumed foundations aren't your thing I don't think it will bother you that much as it's very subtle. I then dipped my beauty blender into the two pumps and buffed it out on my face, I got about one pump onto my beauty blender and thing covered one cheek, my nose plus my chin, the next pump covered my other cheek and my forehead. The foundation blended out very smoothly and felt light and silky, but since it's only medium coverage i decided to go in with another two pumps to see if it really was as build-able as everyone found it to be. So I re-applied the foundation to areas that I felt needed it and it really did cover it very well it built up just as I thought it would!
So did it live up to it's famous claims? Yes!
It was long-lasting, smudge proof, didn't get oily or shiny, it was lightweight, hydrating and super build-able!
However I think that Fabulous & Flawless and Australis' StayPut are almost identical in color, application and result! (Australis retails for $10.46 @ Priceline)
Although I was very impressed with Fabulous & Flawless and I would definitely recommend and re-purchase it!
Thanks for reading!
