STARTING A (BEAUTY) YOUTUBE CHANNEL! + TIPS!

After about a year or so of obsessively watching beauty / lifestyle related youtube videos and desperately wanting to start my own beauty channel on youtube. The only reason I avoided starting the channel (despite desperately wanting too) I was very uncertain of how I would have felt if my fellow high school classmates had found this channel as I had already gone through 2 years of constant talk about the followers I had on Instagram  But as graduation came and went I figured there was no reason I couldn't jump right into making videos and that there was no excuse I wasn't in high school anymore and I didn't care who saw my videos, I was going to start up a channel! So after returning from my trip to England I finally plucked up the courage and as of January 28 (2015) I officially had my very own YouTube channel and on that same day I had even filmed and edited my very first YouTube video, a "Get ready with me" (GRWM).

So almost a month later (Today: Feb 22nd) I currently have 6 videos and 4 subscribers... Although I jumped into this thinking that getting subscribers was going to be super simple (not entirely sure why) I'm really not that bothered about how many subscribers I have as I am enjoying filming, editing and uploading these videos a lot more than I thought I would and even though I am only 6 videos in I feel A LOT more confident in my make-up skills AND talking to myself in front of a recording camera, as my first attempt was super scary!

My goals for my channel this coming month (March) is to (hopefully) hit 50-100 subscribers and make my content a lot more interesting! As ONLY two (out of 6) videos that i've upload are ones I would actually search for and watch heaps of myself (What's in my bag & GRWM) and surprisingly enough these are the two with the most views so I'm hoping to make my content as universal and interesting as I can and make sure that these are videos I would actually watch myself!

TIPS!
Even with my very very limited beauty guru experience my top piece of advise, especially if you're not overly comfortable talking in front of the camera is to do a "Get ready with me" (GRWM) video first (even if it's just your daily make-up!) That way you can upload and get a feel for things and editing without having to record yourself talking (if you're uncomfortable with that)

And my second tip would be to keep it supppeeerrr professional looking (both videos and channel!) make sure your videos are good quality, create custom thumbnails and have a banner for your channel, it's super simple but really affective!
